Runners prepare: European Union Delegation launches 2026 Buenos Aires Run

Date:

The EU Delegation in Argentina has officially launched the 2026 European Union Buenos Aires Run. The race, presented under the motto, We run together, we all win, is the fifth time the event will happen. It will take place in the Bosques de Palermo on Sunday, May 10. In addition to 3K, 7K, and 15K races, there will also be recreational activities for all ages. Present at the event were the European Union ambassador to Argentina, Erik Heg, along with representatives from the Buenos Aires City government; the runner community I Love Run; and the PUPI Foundation. “Celebrating my first Europe Day in Argentina with the European Union Buenos Aires Run is a symbol of what our bilateral relationship stands for: shared values, cooperation, and dialogue, said Heg.  The ambassador also highlighted sports unique power to unite nations and put into action the values that Europe and Argentina uphold together: solidarity, teamwork, and a commitment to the common good.”  A portion of the proceeds from the 2026 event will go to the PUPI Foundation. The organization, founded by former Argentine football star Javier Zanetti in 2001, works to protect and promote the rights of children and teenagers in vulnerable situations through educational, sports, cultural, and social support programs. Being part of the European Union Buenos Aires Run fills us with joy and hope, said PUPI Foundation President Andrs de la Fuente.  Every runner who participates that Sunday will be directly helping to expand opportunities for the boys and girls we work with. For us, sports and solidarity are two sides of the same coin. For those interested in the event or in running in general and don’t know where to begin, check out this guide the Herald made to answer all your questions.  The event is set to start on May 10. The 7K and 15K events will start at 8 a.m., with the family-oriented 3K walk setting off at 9:30 a.m.  Runners need to sign up through the Buenos Aires Run site. Inscription fees run from AR$33,000 (US$ 23,65 at the official rate) to AR$41,000 (just over US$29)
