Nova Scotia·NewNova Scotia RCMP say two of four people who were on board a boat in Lake Rossignol, N.S., died after it capsized Saturday.RCMP say a 45-year-old man and another child survived the incidentCBC News · Posted: Oct 19, 2025 9:13 AM EDT | Last Updated: 1 hour agoNova Scotia RCMP say two of the four people who were on board a boat in Lake Rossignol, N.S., died after it capsized on Saturday.In a news release issued Sunday, the RCMP say the people on board were a 45-year-old man and three children, all from Fall River, N.S.It says two of the children died, but did not provide any ages for them.Lake Rossignol is located in Queens County in southwestern Nova Scotia.It’s unclear what caused the boat to overturn.A search and rescue operation began just before 5 p.m. AT Saturday, with RCMP, local fire departments, paramedics and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre responding, according to RCMP.Maj. Trevor Ackland of the JRCC told CBC News in a text message that individuals were taken to hospital using a military Cormorant helicopter on the advice of paramedics at the scene.Ackland said the patients were taken to CFB Halifax and then taken to hospital.The two surviving individuals have non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP say.MORE TOP STORIES
