Valentine’s Day: from laid back evenings to high-pitch partying

The city is steaming with plans for the weekend, from Bad Bunny at River stadium to the Buenos Aires Carnival and the Chinese New Year celebrations. If Valentine’s is your plan of choice, here are some of our favorite options. From music and mysticism at Palacio Barolo to vinyl, cocktails and dancing across the city, here’s a selection of ways to celebrate — or simply survive — Feb. 14. Night of the Domes February 14 and 155.30 p.m., 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.Palacio Barolo (Avenida de Mayo 1370)Tickets AR$53.000, available on @alternativaescena Palacio Barolo, the 1923 architectural landmark steeped in myth and symbolism, hosts a Valentine’s-night edition of its “Night of the Domes” on the rooftop. On Saturday the evening will feature melodic songs and boleros by Paulina Torres, lead singer of Los Amados. On Sunday, Baccarat founder Sergio Pangaro will headline the evening with a trio show with Cocó Muro in vocals and Fernando Carlini in saxophone. On both nights, artist Fabiana Rey will present “Tu vida en burbujas,” a poetic performance blending champagne-bubble readings and love tarot. The 75-minutes experience includes author-style bites, sweet delicacies, wine, oracle sessions and a themed guided visit through the building.  Sifón + DJs + Tomi Lago February 14, 7 p.m.Av. Jorge Newbery 3881 Sifón Chacarita marks Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 from 7 p.m. with an evening built around music, vinyl culture and shareable fare, no reservations required.  Organized alongside Jugando a los Discos, the event features DJ sets throughout the night and a live performance by Tomi Lago. Guests can settle in with the bar’s usual lineup of vermouth, cocktails and small plates designed for lingering conversation, before a seasonal sweet finale: a special pavlova topped with pastry cream, fresh fruit and lime. Casual and festive, the gathering offers a low-key alternative to candlelit clichés, pairing sound, flavor and company in one of the neighborhood’s social hubs. Valentine’s Parties BreshSábado 14, 00:30 h.AMK Club (Gascón 1040) The internationally famous is holding a Valentine’s Bresh at AMK Club in Almagro, unde a simple and enticing motto “You can bring whoever you want, just don’t miss it. You’ll fall in love again, hit after hit.” Plop LovefestFebruary 14, 0:30 a.m. Ciudad Cultural Konex (Sarmiento 3131) Fiesta PLOP! will turn Ciudad Cultural Konex into a “Pop Eden, a shelter for everyone who still believes in love…in every shape.” PolentaFebruary 14 & 15Deseo (Av. Chorroarin 1040) The established Polenta party is having a Puerto Rico night, specially designed as a Bad Bunny after party. Saturday’s date is sold out, but tickets are still available for Sunday night .
